Resumen
Introducción. Pseudocercospora fijiensis es un
hongo filamentoso, causante de la enfermedad
foliar llamada Sigatoka negra, la cual afecta a
los bananos en todo el mundo (Arango et al.,
2016). Hasta hoy, su control eficiente se basa
en la aplicación de fungicidas de contacto y
sistémicos. Este fitopatógeno interactúa con su
hospedero mediante la secreción de efectores
de tipo fitotoxinas no específicas y efectores
proteicos; los últimos menos comprendidos.
Objetivo. Caracterizar el efecto de PfAvr4 en
plantas de banano susceptibles y resistentes a la
Sigatoka negra. Métodos. Se utilizaron clonas
de Escherichia coli conteniendo plásmidos ya
sea con la región codificante del efector PfAvr4
inmaduro (PfAvr4inm) o del producto madu-
ro (PfAvr4mad). De manera independiente,
ambas regiones codificantes se subclonaron en
el vector de expresión pLATE en E. coli y sus
expresiones fueron inducidas con isopropil β-δ-
1-thiogactopyranosido (IPTG); PfAvr4mad

Introduction. Pseudocercospora fijiensis is a
filamentous fungus and causal agent of the fo-
liar disease called black Sigatoka, which affects
bananas worldwide (Arango et al., 2016).
To date, its control is based on the applica-
tion of contact and systemic fungicides. This

effectors and protein effectors, the latter less un-
